About 30 apartment buildings will be built in the Vitebsk region by the end of 2016

As noted by Egor Dzhandarov, Head of the Housing Construction and Infrastructure Department of the Committee for Architecture and Construction of the Regional Executive Committee, based on the results of 5 months, the annual target for housing commissioning has been fulfilled by 50.5%. In 17 out of 23 regions of Vitebsk Oblast, apartment buildings are being constructed using state support funds.

— Further development of housing construction in the northern region will be carried out in accordance with the general concept of the country's economic development, which provides for an increase in the share of extra-budgetary sources of financing. In accordance with the State Program "Housing Construction" for 2016-2020, by the end of the five-year period, it is planned to increase the level of housing provision for the population from 26.6 sq. m per person (in 2015) to 27.3, – Egor Dzhandarov reported.

In the first quarter of the current year, almost 6 thousand sq. m were commissioned in the region at the expense of organizations' funds. Vitebsk and Orsha became the most massive segments of development. Under state contracts this year, residents of Lepel, Postavy, Polotsk, and Barani of Orsha district received the keys to their coveted "square meters" in 4 apartment buildings, which became a "carry-over" from 2015.

To the commissioned rental houses in Vitebsk and Orsha, a 60-apartment building in Bolbasovo, Orsha district, will be added in the third quarter; its foundation was laid in January. To reduce the cost per square meter in this five-story building, the large-panel construction technology of RUP "Vitebsk DSK" is used. According to Egor Dzhandarov, when forming the program for 2017, the issue of continuing the construction of rental housing will be considered, given the high demand for it.
