About 300 participants will gather in Vitebsk for the Orthodox youth festival "Odigitria," as reported by the Vitebsk Diocese of the Belarusian Orthodox Church.
Representatives from Belarus, Russia, and Ukraine will take part in the festival, which begins on July 31. Orthodox youth from the three countries will showcase their creative talents in the forum's competition program, with master classes on choreography (dances of ancient Belarus and world nations) and a concert held near the Assumption Cathedral. The best participants of the competition program will take the stage at the Summer Amphitheater on August 3 for a festive gala concert.
Orthodox youth will have the opportunity to attend sessions led by representatives of the Department for Youth Affairs of the Moscow Patriarchate and participate in divine services, including a midnight divine liturgy at the church of Blessed Xenia of Petersburg.
A religious procession to Smolensk will be organized as part of the "Odigitria" festival. It will start on August 5 in Vitebsk and conclude on August 9 at the youth center of the Church of Saints Peter and Paul in Smolensk. On August 10, Orthodox youth will participate in festive events dedicated to the Smolensk Icon of the Mother of God, known as "Odigitria."
