About 48,000 children underwent health improvement in the camps of the Vitebsk region during two summer shifts

About 48 thousand children have had recreation and health improvement in the camps of the Vitebsk region during two summer shifts, the head of the Vitebsk regional department of the Republican Center for Health Improvement and Sanatorium-Resort Treatment of the Population, Elena Andreykova, told a BELTA correspondent. In the current season, over 29 thousand children underwent health improvement in almost 600 day camps. More than 70 suburban camps hosted about 17.8 thousand young residents of the region, including over 1.5 thousand difficult teenagers and children from dysfunctional families who spent their holidays beneficially in 25 specialized camps organized with the direct participation of representatives of law enforcement agencies. About 7.5 thousand children will go to suburban health camps for the third shift. In addition, eight camps are ready to receive about 1 thousand people for health improvement in the fourth shift from August 10. In total, this summer it is planned to improve the health of over 56 thousand children, and judging by the progress of the summer campaign, the coverage rate of children with health resort services will be higher than in previous years, Elena Andreykova noted. Eight health camps in the Vitebsk region have already applied for participation in the republican review-competition for the best camp, announced for the first time by the Ministry of Education and the Republican Center for Health Improvement and Sanatorium-Resort Treatment. The competition is held in 6 nominations, including "Best Creative Idea of the Shift", "Best Design of the Pedagogical Project of the Shift". The competition is held from June 15 to October 15 in two stages at the regional and republican levels. Winners will be awarded valuable prizes. -0-
