About 54 thousand Vitebsk residents have taken part in the city improvement efforts since the beginning of the month-long campaign, which started on March 12, the Vitebsk City Executive Committee reported.
The month-long campaign for sanitary cleaning and improvement of Vitebsk after the autumn-winter period is ongoing. People are cleaning the regional center, adjacent territories, parks, and squares. During the large-scale community clean-up on March 23, special attention was paid to courtyards, individual housing sectors, repair and painting of fences, traffic light objects, public transport stops, cutting of wild shrubs, and elimination of unauthorized dumps. "The main sites last Saturday were Frunze Park, the park of the 30th anniversary of Komsomol, the railway workers' culture and recreation park, the city's millennium park, as well as the Vitsba floodplain. Since the beginning of the month-long campaign, about 54 thousand Vitebsk residents have participated in tidying up the city. Among them are work collectives of enterprises and organizations, pupils and students of educational institutions, public and veteran organizations," the City Executive Committee noted. The month-long campaign for sanitary cleaning and improvement of Vitebsk after the autumn-winter period will last until April 30.
