Around 700 participants will gather at the youth tourist rally in the Vitebsk region

August 15, Vitebsk /Olga Bogacheva - BELTA/. About 700 participants will gather at the regional youth tourist rally in Beshenkovichi district, the youth affairs department of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee informed a BELTA correspondent.

The event will open on the morning of August 19 with a requiem rally at the monument to Soviet soldiers (Uzhrechye village) who died in June 1944 during the liberation of Beshenkovichi district from the Nazi invaders. After paying tribute to the fallen defenders of the Fatherland, the participating teams, representing all districts of the Vitebsk region, will set up their camp in the village of Ulla and begin to fulfill the main goal of the event - numerous sports and creative competitions.

For three days, they will compete in tourist and applied multi-discipline competitions in cycling, mountain hiking, and water tourism, and will complete a relay race with orienteering. The creative part includes newspaper competitions, amateur performances, and a quiz "Vitebsk Region Sports". The best teams of the tourist rally will be determined in each type of competition, as well as based on the results of all performances. Prizes and honorary diplomas await them.

The event is organized by the youth affairs department and the department of physical culture, sports and tourism of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee with the support of the Beshenkovichi District Executive Committee.-0-
