About 7.5 thousand schoolchildren in the Vitebsk region will be recuperated during the winter holidays, the education department of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee informed a BELTA correspondent. Children will rest and gain strength for the new academic quarter in one round-the-clock camp "Magistral" and day camps. Br70 million will be allocated from the state social security budget for children's recuperation. Other teenagers will not be bored during the holidays either. Thus, in addition to the widely held New Year's matinees, performances and show programs, each educational institution in the region organizes excursion programs for its students, tourist trips around Belarus, sports competitions, intellectual tournaments, and discussion clubs. Extracurricular centers are actively working with young people. More than 40 thousand children and teenagers are currently engaged in over 3.5 thousand hobby clubs and sections at these centers. The regional organization of BRSM is holding traditional charity events to provide assistance and collect stationery and items for children from large and low-income families with schoolchildren. With the aim of preventing offenses, organizing employment and leisure activities, primary organization activists are organizing a series of events for difficult teenagers, involving representatives of law enforcement agencies and military units in their participation. -0-
