About 8,000 families in the Vitebsk region will receive financial assistance for the academic year

In the Vitebsk region, about 8 thousand families will receive a one-time material assistance in the amount of up to 30% of the subsistence minimum budget for the new academic year, said Nina Kolymaga, Deputy Chairperson of the Committee for Labor, Employment and Social Protection of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee.

State support will also be provided to low-income families, families with disabled children or disabled parents by attracting additional financial resources: funds from enterprises, sponsorship, state targeted social assistance, material assistance from state social insurance funds, funds of charitable foundations and public organizations.

"To date, 5.1 thousand families raising 9.9 thousand children, including 3.1 thousand large families (7.3 thousand children), have already received material assistance," noted Nina Kolymaga.

All payments will be made before September 1. Support is provided under the State Program "Health of the People and Demographic Security of the Republic of Belarus" for 2016-2020 (subprogram "Family and Childhood").
