Around 900 artisans and artists will gather in the City of Masters at the "Slavianski Bazaar in Vitebsk".

July 5, Vitebsk / Olga Bogacheva - BELTA /. About 900 artisans and artists will take part in the City of Masters at the XIX International Festival of Arts "Slavianski Bazaar in Vitebsk," Viktor Kibisov, director of the Dvina Center for Folk Crafts and Arts, told a BELTA correspondent. Traditional venues for folk masters and artisans will be Tchaikovsky Street, leading to the Dvina Center, and the areas near the Vitebsk Concert Hall. The colorful variety of offered items will attract handicraftswomen, weavers, woodcarvers, straw and bead weavers, ceramists, potters, and blacksmiths, as well as jewelers and costume jewelry sellers from July 8 to 17. In the City of Masters, artisans from various regions of Belarus, Russia, Ukraine, and Latvia (over 750 people in total) will present their best works and participate in competitions and plein airs. For example, on July 10-11, straw weavers will compete in their skills at the regional competition "Paparats-kvetka." On the same days, exhibitions of works by ceramists and blacksmiths will be held. Amateur groups and members of historical reconstruction clubs will help create a festive atmosphere, with their performances accompanying the fair throughout its duration. The cozy streets of Tolstoy and Suvorov, located in the Old Town and recently reconstructed, will become the venue for artists. This year, about 100 painters will comfortably display their works here, and art lovers will once again enjoy wandering through the open-air exhibition halls. -0-
