This was announced today at a meeting of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee by Deputy Chairman of the Regional Executive Committee Oleg Matskevich, BELTA correspondent reports. The regional program, which includes 19 subprograms, provides for the implementation of 765 measures and an investment of at least Br42 trillion. Since the beginning of the program, 227 out of 607 measures planned for 2011-2012 have been implemented, work is underway on 280, and more than 5,000 jobs have been created. The most actively implemented subprograms are "Vittorg", "Northern Capital", "Children of Vitebsk Region", "Vitneftekhim", "Vitmash", "Vitebsk Pharmacy", "Health", and the subprogram for the development of small and medium-sized urban settlements of the region. At the same time, insufficient work is being done to implement the subprograms "Vitebskryba", "Vitebsk Spring", "Vitebsk Flax" and "Vitagro". The analysis of the implementation of measures for the past period indicates a lack of organizational measures taken by the coordinators and customers-coordinators of the subprograms, and the absence of proper control over the implementation of measures, emphasized Oleg Matskevich. First Deputy Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee Vladimir Novatsky, referring to the work of the subprogram coordinators, noted their passivity and stressed that all organizational work that they were supposed to carry out back in 2011 has not been completed. He gave all responsible persons one week to analyze the current situation and develop specific proposals for the implementation of subprograms. The Regional Program for Innovative and Investment Development of the Vitebsk Region for 2011-2015 is a comprehensive development plan for the region for the current five-year period in all strategic areas that determine the economic and social development of the region. Its goal is to form a competitive, innovative, high-tech, resource- and energy-saving, environmentally safe economy of the region, ensuring sustainable socio-economic development of the region and improving the quality of life of the population.
