About Br65 billion has been utilized in the Vitebsk region for the reconstruction of stationary social service institutions
The waiting list for placement in psycho-neurological boarding facilities will be eliminated in the Vitebsk region in 2013, the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee's Labor, Employment and Social Protection Committee informed a BELTA correspondent.
Currently, there is no waiting list for placement in general-type boarding facilities in the region, however, 128 people need to be placed in psycho-neurological boarding facilities. According to specialists, they will be able to get a place as early as the beginning of 2013.
The elimination of waiting lists for placement in boarding institutions was made possible by measures for the construction and modernization of the network of stationary social institutions. In 2012, about Br65 billion was allocated and utilized for major repairs, reconstruction, and construction. This amount is four times higher than the funds allocated in 2011. In addition, 2.5 times more funds were allocated this year for equipping boarding facilities than in the last 10 years combined. Refrigeration, kitchen, and medical equipment were purchased to replace worn-out ones, as well as ten vehicles for transporting patients to medical facilities and delivering food.
This year, the construction of a residential building at the Dunilovichsky boarding facility, major repairs at the Gluboksky boarding facility, and one of the buildings at the Braslavsky and Lunacharsky boarding facilities are being completed. The reconstruction of the administrative building of the Voronovsky boarding facility has already been completed.
The Vitebsk region has the largest number of boarding facilities in the republic – 15, which house about 3.4 thousand pensioners and disabled people. These include five general-type boarding facilities with 762 beds and 10 psycho-neurological facilities with 2627 beds.
