Olympic champion Vladislav Goncharov was honored at the Vitebsk trampoline school

Олимпийского чемпиона Владислава Гончарова чествовали в витебской школе по прыжкам на батуте
The trampoline and sports acrobatics department of Vitebsk Children and Youth Sports School No. 1 hosted a celebration for a hero – the champion of the Rio de Janeiro Games, Vladislav Goncharov, as well as his coach Olga Vlasova.

Oh, what a difficult challenge this is. Yesterday, you were known only to a narrow circle of specialists and fans of a specific type of competition, and today your name is all over the media, and people, even those very far from sports, are discussing your words.

To his credit, the 20-year-old young man is handling it with dignity, as was evident to the numerous young trampolinists, coaches, and teachers from Gymnasium No. 1, where he studied in the physics and mathematics class, as well as acquaintances and close people who greeted the champion with bread and salt at the walls of the hall where the Olympian's journey began. Still as modest and slightly embarrassed by the attention to his person, Vlad handed over a certificate for 15 thousand rubles to the director of the Children and Youth Sports School, Ekaterina Kolmogorova. These funds are allocated by the Presidential Sports Club to reward winners and their chosen schools.

Many kind words were also spoken in honor of Olga Vlasova. After all, this is a truly unique case in the world of big sports: a mentor who literally led a 6-year-old boy by the hand to her training sessions helped him win an Olympic medal as the head coach of the national team.

After the official part, the athlete was literally swarmed by children. Everyone wanted to take a picture with their idol, get an autograph, and ask if the gold medal was really made of precious metal. No one was refused. Vladislav was friendly and answered the questions of future champions with a smile. And now, he has a well-deserved rest after the grueling competitions and immense emotional stress, to regain his strength for new training sessions.

By the way

The smartphone received for participating in the Olympic Games, with personal photos taken in Brazil and elsewhere,

Vladislav sold at a charity auction. With an initial price of 2 thousand rubles, the buyer agreed to pay 7 thousand. The proceeds will also go to the development of his native sports school.
