Omsk entrepreneurs propose to produce flax cotton at the Orsha Flax Mill
Omsk entrepreneurs are proposing to produce flax-based cotton wool at the Orsha Flax Mill, as reported to BelTA by the Orsha District Executive Committee.
Today, representatives of the business circles of the Omsk region, who are on a visit to Belarus, visited the Orsha Flax Mill and approached the enterprise's management with a proposal to create a joint venture for the production of flax-based medical products. The flax industry is well-developed in the Omsk region. Last year, 4.6 thousand tons of flax fiber were harvested there, however, raw material processing remains one of the region's pressing problems.
Omsk entrepreneurs possess the technology for producing medical products, including cotton wool, from flax. However, the market for the new product still requires study. The parties have agreed to conduct a marketing research within three months, after which conclusions will be drawn about the feasibility of establishing such an enterprise.
