Less than 20% of household consumers in the Vitebsk region will pay for electricity at increased tariffs
In the Vitebsk region, no more than 20% of domestic consumers will pay for electricity at increased tariffs, Gennady Titenko, Deputy General Director for Sales of the Republican Unitary Enterprise "Vitebskenergo" - Director of the "Energosbyt" branch, told a BELTA correspondent.
According to "Energosbyt", 78% of the region's domestic consumers will not feel the transition to a differentiated payment system - they will stay within the basic tariff. Currently, district and city executive committees provide energy companies with information on the availability of centralized gas and heat supply in homes, as well as data on categories of citizens to whom the differentiated payment system for electricity supply services does not apply. In Gennady Titenko's opinion, after summarizing this data, the number of citizens paying for electricity at basic tariffs will increase.
The information received from the executive committees is entered into a database, on the basis of which software for calculations is developed. According to Gennady Titenko, it is better for citizens to pay for electricity consumed in February after March 10, as by this time all data for reliable calculations will be collected.
In connection with the introduction of differentiated payment, the "Energosbyt" branch is conducting a broad explanatory campaign among the population on ways to save electricity and the possibility of calculating electricity costs depending on the time of day. As Gennady Titenko noted, judging by the phone calls, the public's interest in the possibility of payment depending on the time of day has significantly increased. He reminded that to switch to this payment system, the consumer needs to replace the induction meter with an electronic one and conclude a corresponding agreement with "Energosbyt".
