OPUS-2013: Vivienne Sabby's new victory

OPUS-2013: новая победа Вивьен Саби

"Vivienne is a very lively girl," says Oksana Yaroslavovna PALASYUK, the choreographer of the exemplary children's pop song studio "FORUM," about the young soloist. And you can't argue with that! No sooner had Vivienne SABI won the "GOLDEN MICROPHONE" festival in Kostanay (April 2013) than a new award was added to the Vitebsk native's prize collection. And this time, the soloist conquered the Spanish audience.

From June 14 to 21, the IX International Competition OPUS-2013 was held in the city of Lloret de Mar (Catalonia, Spain), with performers from Belarus, Israel, Spain, Russia, the USA, Ukraine, and other countries participating. Vivienne became the first performer to represent Belarus at this event. And the soloist received such an opportunity precisely as a result of her victory in Kostanay, where one of the prizes was a grant to participate in OPUS-2013. Vivienne SABI did not miss her chance – and second place in the Spanish competition (middle age subgroup) became another step in her successful solo career.

On the stage of the resort town of Lloret de Mar, the Vitebsk native performed two songs – in Russian and English. The success of these performances was made possible not only by Vivienne's talent but also by the tireless work of her teachers: Tatiana Mikhailovna KIRILLOVA (head of the "FORUM" pop song studio of the "VITEBSK" Culture Center), Elena Valentinovna GUZHEVA (vocal coach), Oksana Yaroslavovna PALASYUK (choreographer).

During her trip to Spain, Vivien managed to charm the contest jury, meet her stage colleagues, and visit the most interesting places in Barcelona and the famous Montserrat Monastery. New impressions are an excellent aid in creative activity, as they always bring inspiration and energy. And the creative tandem of the "VITEBSK" Culture Center, which does not intend to limit itself to a trip to Spain, will need them more than once. Moreover, the next "destination" is already precisely known: it is Latvia. As a result of winning the OPUS-2013 contest, Vivien received not only a laureate diploma and commemorative prizes, but also a grant to participate in the International Youth Festival of Popular Music and Author's Song "RIGA SYMPHONY," which will be held from December 4 to 8 of this year in Riga.

We hope that the young soloist's victorious march through international music competitions will lead Vivien to what she has long dreamed of – participation in the "VITEBSK" International Children's Music Competition, held as part of "SLAVIANSKI BAZAAR IN VITEBSK." This is all the more relevant because Belarus has been predominantly represented by Minsk residents at such prestigious music competitions. Vivien is determined to change this established tradition and, perhaps, next year she will take part in "SLAVIANSKI BAZAAR IN VITEBSK." Let's wish her success!
