Belarus's experience in legislative regulation of the pharmaceutical market is in demand in many CIS countries

April 8, Vitebsk / Sergei Kochetov - BELTA /. Belarus's experience in the legislative regulation of drug circulation is in demand in many CIS countries, which use it as a basis for developing national legislation. This was stated by Deputy Minister of Health Valery Shevchuk today in Vitebsk at the VIII Congress of Pharmacists of Belarus, according to a BELTA correspondent. In recent years, Belarus has created a national legislative model in the field of drug circulation, which takes into account international experience. In 2006, the law on medicines came into force, which made it possible to systematize numerous subordinate acts, and in 2009, taking into account law enforcement practice, amendments were made to the law. As a result, clear rules for operating in the pharmaceutical market have been adopted in the country, which are harmonized with the requirements of international legislation, and a clear and understandable procedure for registering medicines and controlling their circulation and quality has been established. "The measures taken to protect the domestic pharmaceutical market have made it possible to prevent the emergence of counterfeit medicines; not a single case of counterfeit has been detected in the last five years," noted Valery Shevchuk. Belarus is successfully implementing a state program for the transition of domestic pharmaceutical manufacturers to GMP principles, which guarantees the high quality of medicines, the deputy minister added. -0-
