Vladimir Terentyev noted the experience in improving courtyards and streets in Liozno at the field meeting of the presidium of the district council of deputies
You need to be able to get along with people
It is enough to drive through Liozno to see that the residents love their town. This is felt in people's respectful attitude towards the work of others, their active participation in community clean-ups, their attitude towards order, and the careful use of sports and children's equipment in the courtyards.
Suffice it to say that this year alone, 10 children's playgrounds have been installed in Liozno without attracting funds from the budget, and 16 courtyard territories have been improved. By decision of the local authorities and the deputy corps, organizations and responsible persons from among the deputies themselves have been assigned to the courtyards, who monitor order in their assigned territories, help resolve emerging issues raised by residents. Moreover, the courtyards are being improved with the participation of the latter. We witnessed how, after mowing the grass near one of the houses on Lenin Street, an elderly woman voluntarily helped to rake the grass.
130 thousand rubles have been allocated for the improvement of adjacent territories in Liozno region, of which 110 thousand have been utilized. The area of adjacent territories in the district is 75 thousand square meters.
At the field meeting, Tamara Drilenok, Chairperson of the District Council of Deputies, did not spare kind words for the heads of organizations, including the Liozno Forestry, Bread Base, GorGaz, Electric Networks, etc., who are wholeheartedly committed to their work. Oleg Zhingel, Head of the Regional Directorate for the Vitebsk Region of OJSC "Belagroprombank", a member of the Council of the Republic, provides great assistance to his constituents.
Utility workers are also actively involved in implementing the planned initiatives. They organize clean-up events, inviting residents to tidy up common areas. The residents of the "Shkolny" microdistrict and Dobromyslskaya and Chkalova streets are particularly active in this regard, enthusiastically participating in the improvement efforts. Children join adults in these activities, helping to collect trash, weed flowerbeds, and paint playground equipment. This also serves an educational purpose. When people personally contribute to maintaining cleanliness, they develop a different attitude towards the work done.
Participants of the field meeting visited the recreation area on Lake Buevskoye, where final preparations for the summer season were underway. The beach has been equipped, with designated areas for waste disposal, a toilet, and a recreation zone featuring three gazebos available for rent. Visitors can use these to prepare barbecue, rent a boat, or stay overnight. Paid services are also provided. Utility workers have planted trees in the recreation area, which will form a green shield to protect against dust.
– A systematic approach to addressing issues of landscaping and greening, involving public organizations such as BRSM, "Belaya Rus," and the "Red Cross," along with grants within the framework of civil accord, can serve as an exemplary model for others, – noted Vladimir Terentyev. – This experience should be replicated in other cities and towns. It demonstrates effective engagement with people and the ability to find common interests with them. The fact that Liozno deputies are achieving good results is also evidenced by this: over the past decade, four rural councils – Liozno, Babinovichsky, Krynkovsky, and Dobromyslsky – have won the republican competition for landscaping and maintaining order in their territories.
Incidentally, in the Vitebsk region this year, 257 courtyards need to be improved. The largest number of these are in Shumilino, which will host the regional festival "Dazhynki," as well as in the Orsha and Polotsk districts, and the settlements of Osveya and Surazh (as part of the "Small Cities" program).
Summer. Sun. Children's Festival
On Children's Day, deputies did not bypass such institutions as the socio-pedagogical center, where its pupils were presented with toys and sports equipment, and the kindergarten, which received a certificate for 5 thousand rubles. They also attended the Children's Day festival held in Shkolny Park. Children from all agro-towns of Liozno gathered here to celebrate their holiday noisily, cheerfully, with songs and games.
Here, the strongest team of young inspectors in the republic from Liozno Secondary School No. 1, who became winners for the second time, was also honored. Dmitry Khoma, Head of the Main Department for Education, presented them with certificates and gifts.
The batleyka theater put on a colorful performance, and library workers opened the summer reading season with the traditional "Children's Day Festival." Some played checkers, some jumped on a trampoline, some simply smiled at the sun, because the holiday was great!
