Order for a responsible dad: a proposal for a new award was made at a dialogue platform in Polotsk

For large families and fathers raising children alone, one of the forms of recognizing their merits could be introduced – the Order of the Father. The work of mothers in Belarus has always been honored; they are celebrated at various levels. As for fathers, who invest no less in their children, according to the participants of the dialogue platform, they are not always recognized, and representatives of the fair sex consider this unfair. To support fathers raising children alone, caring mothers proposed introducing an award – the Order of the Father.

The participants of the dialogue platform cited numerous examples of responsible fathers and their involvement in the formation and development of their sons and daughters, and proposed including fathers from large families, who bear the care for their households on their strong shoulders, in the list.

Natalia Kochanova said that there are over 53,000 families in Belarus where fathers are raising children alone. The speaker accepted the proposal from the meeting participants and promised to discuss this idea at a high level, especially since similar proposals have been received from residents of the country more than once.
