This year, 11 women from the Vitebsk region were awarded the Order of Mother, and another 25 became laureates of the award named after Hero of the Soviet Union Zinaida Tusnolobova-Marchenko. Being a mother is a great responsibility and immense happiness, believes Catherine Rusyatinskaya from the Orsha district, a recipient of the Order of Mother. She has five children. The eldest, Nikita, is 12 years old. He shared the festive moments of today with his mother. "We live very harmoniously, and as the eldest, I help my mother with my father – I wash dishes, clean, and look after my brothers and sisters. It's not difficult for me," shared the mother's helper.

Svetlana Belyakova, a teacher at kindergarten No. 56 in Vitebsk, admitted that she and her husband never planned a specific number of children. "We live harmoniously, we help each other, so we easily decided to have five children without thinking. Being large-family parents is simple if heartfelt relationships prevail in the family," she is confident. Tatyana Rezanovich expressed a similar opinion.

"When the house is warm and cozy, and there are loving people around – it's wonderful, and everything works out," she believes. Svetlana Chursina from the regional center, a recipient of the Order of Mother, and her husband are raising seven children – six of their own and one adopted. Today, her maternal labor and merits in raising children were recognized with the regional award named after Tusnolobova-Marchenko. "With her life, this woman has proven that maternal labor is a great feat, so this award is very honorable and valuable for every resident of the Vitebsk region," emphasized the interlocutor. Her husband and children, who have prepared a festive table, are waiting for her at home. "This is our family tradition: for any holiday, the children prepare the dishes. Moreover, on Mother's Day, they always try to surprise and please me with something special," noted Svetlana Chursina.

Sincere words of congratulations were addressed to all

participants of the solemn event by the Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Council of Deputies Vladimir Terentyev. "This bright holiday serves as a reminder of the invaluable role of a mother in the family and upbringing. A mother's lessons remain the most important in any person's life, and her love is a reliable protection. A long, heartfelt story can be told about each family whose representatives have gathered here today. With your example, you inspire optimism and set the mood in Belarusian society," he emphasized. Large, friendly families where healthy children grow up are the key to the strength of the state, added the chairman of the regional council of deputies. Vladimir Terentyev also drew attention to positive trends in the protection of rights and child welfare, and the reduction of social orphanhood. Thus, at present, there are 605 foster families in the Vitebsk region, raising 940 children.

Mother's Week, which is taking place in Belarus, is aimed at supporting the traditions of respectful attitude towards women, strengthening family values and increasing the prestige of the family, and responsible parenthood, added the chairman of the regional council of deputies.
