Orsha and Latvian Marupe are establishing economic cooperation
Orsha and the Latvian town of Marupe are establishing economic cooperation, Oleg Smirnovsky, Deputy Chairman of the Orsha City Executive Committee, told a BELTA correspondent.
Representatives of the Marupe region are in Orsha on their first official visit. "Previously, no business contacts connected us. Through the Consulate of Latvia in Vitebsk, we reached out to the leadership of the Marupe municipality and agreed on a business visit. At the same time, it was decided to focus primarily on establishing economic contacts," noted Oleg Smirnovsky.
The Latvian delegation, which arrived in Orsha on December 3, includes representatives of the largest enterprises of the Marupe region and entrepreneurs, including the owner of Aneira LLC, Chairman for Development of the Marupe Duma, Chairman of the Board of the Association for the Management of European Projects EPVA, member of the board of Riga International Airport, etc.
The rich program of the guests' stay includes visits to about 15 major enterprises in the Orsha region: in particular, the flax mill, the grain processing plant, the sewing enterprises "Svitanak," "Nit'," "Dynamo Program Orsha," the art crafts factory, open joint-stock companies "Orshasyrzavod," "Orshastroy materialy," the plants "Legmash," "Krasny borets," and the reinforced concrete products and structures plant.
"Representatives of the Marupe region have already managed to get acquainted with some of the enterprises yesterday. At the same time, they showed great interest in sewing and construction enterprises," emphasized the deputy chairman, adding that based on the results of the visit, which will conclude on December 5, a cooperation agreement is expected to be signed.
