Orsha handed over the baton of the cultural capital of Belarus to Slutsk

– The Republican campaign "Cultural Capital of the Year" has become a good tradition and has firmly entered the cultural life of the country, – noted Valery Gromada. – Orsha worthily carried this title throughout 2022. Many bright events were held here. Among the most significant are the opening of the military-historical museum named after Hero of the Soviet Union Konstantin Zaslonov, and the House of Culture in Barani. A series of exhibition projects were implemented in the city, and famous professional artists of the Belarusian stage performed here. It should be noted that the residents of the Orsha region have become more actively involved in all cultural events. Speaking about the campaign itself, it is a summing up of the entire year. The year began with the awarding of the "For Spiritual Revival" prize, a special prize for cultural and art figures by the President of the Republic of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko. Events dedicated to Victory Day, Independence Day, and the Day of National Unity were held on a large scale. Our artists achieved victories at "Slavianski Bazaar in Vitebsk", the "Listapad" international film festival, etc. I want to say that culture in our country is alive, keeps pace with the times, and is developing. And all the conditions for this have been created.
