Orsha became the first Belarusian city to welcome participants of the Union State armored vehicle run "Road of Courage".

A solemn rally was held here near the Mound of Immortality, which concluded with a demonstration of the arrived equipment. Veterans of the Great Patriotic War, students, pupils of patriotic classes, and the public took part in the event. The armored vehicle run started on June 17 in Moscow at Poklonnaya Hill. More than 20 units of demilitarized equipment (armored personnel carriers and reconnaissance vehicles) will travel from Moscow to Brest and back. The participants have already visited the Russian cities of Odintsovo, Golitsyno, Mozhaysk, Vyazma, and Smolensk. The Belarusian part of the route runs through Orsha, Minsk, and Brest, Beryoza. The culmination of the event is participation in commemorative events in Brest on June 22. The organizer of the "Road of Courage" armored vehicle run is the Russian interregional public organization "Military-Technical Society". The main task is to pay tribute to the heroes who fought for the Motherland during the Great Patriotic War, as well as to strengthen cultural ties. In total, the participants of the armored vehicle run will cover over 2,300 km, participating in 20 commemorative events in Russia and Belarus. It is expected that a record will be set, which will be included in the Book of Records of Russia. This will be the longest dash made on armored vehicles.
