Orsha will host an international art project for the first time
October 27, Vitebsk / Olga Bogacheva - BELTA /. Orsha will host an international art project for the first time, the head of the culture department of the Orsha City Executive Committee, Irina Migal, told a BELTA correspondent.
The exhibition "Collegium" will open at the V.A. Gromyko Orsha City Art Gallery on October 30. The exhibition will feature over 50 works by 20 artists from Belarus and Russia. The project participants will showcase paintings of various genres and installations.
The project name was not chosen by chance, the interlocutor noted. "Collegium" in Latin means fellowship, community. It is symbolic that the art project in Orsha is also a creative community of artists from different countries. Moreover, collegium is also the address of the V.A. Gromyko Orsha Art Gallery, where the exhibition will be held.
The "Collegium" project is the result of long-term friendly contacts between artists from Orsha region and Vyazma, Orsha's Russian twin city. The project is planned to be continued in the future. At the same time, the organizers intend to involve artists from Orsha's twin cities in other countries - Poland, Lithuania, Bulgaria, Moldova, and Italy - in the project.
The exhibition is organized by the Belarusian Union of Artists, the Smolensk organization of the Union of Artists of Russia, the culture department of the Orsha City Executive Committee, and the Museum Complex of History and Culture of Orsha region. -0-
