Orsha native Alina Talay took 3rd place at an international running tournament in Italy

Runner Alina Talai took third place in the 100m hurdles at the international tournament Meeting Cittа di Padova, held in Italy.

The leader of the Belarusian team in sprint disciplines became the bronze medalist, showing a time of 13.02 seconds. The Belarusian was outrun by representatives of the USA Quinn Harrison (12.84 sec.) and Dawn Harper-Nelson (12.86 sec.). The overseas runners broke the 13-second barrier, continuing their preparation for the World Athletics Championships, which will be held in London from August 4 to 13.

One of the leaders of the Belarusian team, Alina Talai, was not satisfied with her result. To reach the final at the world forum, it is necessary to run faster than 13 seconds. The favorite of the upcoming August championship is another American, Kendra Harrison, who showed a result of 12.28 seconds in Hungary on July 4, which is the best result of the season in the world.

– In Italy, these were my final competitions before the World Championships in London. Unfortunately, the time was not fast at all – only 13.02 seconds. Perhaps something in my preparation went wrong, and I still can't achieve my high results. I don't give up and will fight to the end in London to show my best time, – noted Alina Talai.

The women's 100m hurdles competitions at the World Championships will take place over two days: qualification and semi-finals on August 11, finals on August 12.
