Orsha schoolchildren will grow flowers for veterans for Victory Day

January 20, Vitebsk / Olga Bogacheva - BELTA /. Orsha schoolchildren will grow flowers for veterans for the 65th anniversary of the Great Victory. This was reported to a BELTA correspondent by the education department of the Orsha City Executive Committee. These will be houseplants that the children will present to the victors on the eve of the holiday. They have already appeared on the windowsills of classrooms and in the homes of schoolchildren. Children will also grow flowers for veterans in their summer cottages, which will be presented at the parade on Victory Day. "In this way, the children want to emphasize the significance, importance, and value of the feat accomplished," the department emphasized. This event is being held as part of the "WWII Veteran" campaign, which started in Orsha in September and will last until May 9. During its implementation, numerous meetings with war participants are also organized, home visits to veterans are carried out, and patronage assistance is provided. With the arrival of warm weather, work will begin on improving military graves and memorial sites, during visits to which the children will not only work but also learn about the history of the war years and recall famous events. -0-
