Orsha schoolchildren will become Robinsons
September 22, Vitebsk / Olga Bogacheva - BELTA /. Orsha schoolchildren have an opportunity to feel like real Robinson Crusoes, Lyudmila Pevzner, chief specialist of the Orsha City Committee of the BRSM, told a BELTA correspondent.
On September 29, the "Robinsonade" game-journey will start in Orsha among eighth and ninth graders, with teams from all 26 city schools participating. "Of course, the organizers will not send the children to a desert island during the school year, but they will provide maximum opportunities to demonstrate knowledge of nature, ecology, and tourism," Lyudmila Pevzner noted.
The team stage, called "Tourcruise," will take place in the forest. Traveling along a predetermined route, the children will have to complete various tasks and answer questions related to the nature of their native region and different countries of the world. Three teams that successfully complete this stage will be awarded incentive prizes.
If the first round of the competition can be called a warm-up, where the competing school teams only sized each other up, assessed their intellectual potential themselves, and demonstrated it to the jury members, then in the second round, they will have to enter into a personal duel. In January 2010, during various competitions, each school will determine its own Robinson, who will be entrusted with the honor of representing the educational institution in the final show program in March. In the fight for the honorary title of "Super Robinson," participants will have to answer intricate questions within the school curriculum, show ingenuity in a brain-ring, and demonstrate all their abilities and knowledge in humorous contests.
The game is organized by the Orsha City Committee of the BRSM and the Department of Education of the Orsha City Executive Committee. The event is dedicated to the Year of the Native Land. Its main goal is to foster respect for nature among teenagers, enhance their ecological culture, and develop cognitive activity. -0-
