Orsha rescuers evacuated six people during a fire in one of the dormitories

Orsha rescuers had to evacuate six people this morning during a fire in the dormitory of the enterprise "Orshakomkhoz" in the district center, the center for fire prevention of the regional department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations informed a BELTA correspondent. The report of a fire in one of the rooms on the top floor of a five-story building was received at 5:44 am from the dormitory duty officer. The woman promptly reacted to the fire alarm and, in conditions of heavy smoke, organized the evacuation of residents to a safe place as much as possible. Rescuers who arrived evacuated six people from neighboring rooms away from the epicenter of the fire. Thanks to the competent actions of the dormitory duty shift, it was possible to avoid casualties, and no one needed hospitalization. As it turned out, the cause of the fire was carelessness while smoking in a state of intoxication by a resident of the room, a worker of a local enterprise born in 1970. The man did not hear the autonomous fire detector installed in the room, and only the fire alarm on the floor in the corridor woke him up, after which he was able to get out of the smoky room on his own. -0-
