The Orsha and Liozno forestry enterprises are monitoring the forest fire situation in the Smolensk region

August 6, Vitebsk / Olga Bogacheva - BELTA /. Orsha and Liozno forestry enterprises are monitoring the situation with forest fires in the Smolensk region. This was reported to a BELTA correspondent by the acting head of the department for forest protection and conservation, hunting and hunting tourism of the Vitebsk Production Forestry Association (VPFО) Aleksey Shaposhnikov. Employees of the Orsha forestry enterprise are monitoring the situation with a fire on the territory of the Krasnyansky logging enterprise (Smolensk region) at a distance of 10-13 km from the border. The area of the fire outbreak is about 50 hectares. Firefighters, employees of a local military unit, and a sufficient amount of equipment are involved in its extinguishment. Another large fire was recorded the day before on the territory of the Rudnya forestry enterprise. According to updated data, it is located 30 km from the Belarusian-Russian border. Initially, due to heavy smoke spreading towards the Liozno district, it was assumed that the fire outbreak was much closer, the source noted. "Currently, these fires do not pose a threat to Belarus. At the same time, in order to prevent the situation from worsening, constant monitoring is being carried out, and the Liozno and Orsha forestry enterprises are taking all measures to prevent the spread of fire to the territory of Belarus," Aleksey Shaposhnikov emphasized. -0-
