Orsha and Verkhnedvinsk districts lead in crop yield in the Vitebsk region

Orsha and Verkhnedvinsk districts hold leading positions in grain and leguminous crop yields in the Vitebsk region, the Committee for Agriculture and Food of the Regional Executive Committee reported.

"Grain growers of Orsha and Verkhnedvinsk districts have achieved the highest yields of grain and leguminous crops in the region. In these districts, 37 and 35.8 centners per hectare are harvested, respectively, the committee noted. - 7 districts of the region have yields over 30 centners per hectare."

As for the harvesting rates, the Postavy district is in the lead, where more than 40% of the grain fields have been threshed. Farmers in Dokshytsy, Chashniki, and Orsha districts are close to this figure. According to data from the morning of August 8, 115.2 thousand hectares of grain fields have been mowed in the region, which is 32.8% of the total area of grain and leguminous crops. Grain growers have threshed 344 thousand tons of grain, with an average yield of 29.9 centners per hectare. In total, farmers in the region will have to harvest more than 350 thousand hectares.
