Orsha Linen Mill presents innovative developments at the "Flax Fest" festival in Vitebsk

July 5, Vitebsk / Diana Kurilo - BELTA /. The Orsha Flax Mill promises to showcase a fairy tale of innovative products at the "Flax Fairy Tale" festival, Igor Yeshchenko, Head of the Marketing and Market Conditions Department of RUPTP "Orsha Flax Mill," told a BELTA correspondent.

For the third year, the "Flax Fairy Tale" festival continues to delight the residents of the regional center and numerous guests of the "Slavianski Bazaar in Vitebsk" arts festival. This year, it will be held on July 9. A variety of products made from linen fabrics will be presented by 12 enterprises of the "Bellegprom" concern, as well as by the best Belarusian designers.

According to Igor Yeshchenko, the Orsha Flax Mill promises to surprise exhibition visitors with its innovative developments. For the first time in Europe, the enterprise has mastered digital printing on natural fabrics. Unlike traditional printing methods, the color palette of the pattern can be composed of more than 1,000 colors and shades. Thus, fashion designers and designers are presented with broad opportunities for using new types of fabrics. In addition, the enterprise is ready to produce fabrics, bed linen, napkins, and gift sets according to individual orders.

Another novelty that the Orsha Flax Mill intends to present will be blankets and shawls made from cottonized yarn. Previously, technical fabrics were made from it. Thanks to the plant's technical re-equipment program, the latest equipment was purchased, which allowed for the processing of short fiber into yarn of quality close to semi-wool. According to Igor Yeshchenko, finished products were first showcased at a specialized exhibition in Germany this year and received the highest praise from European specialists.

Fashionistas will undoubtedly appreciate the exclusive footwear made of leather and linen. The uniqueness of this collection lies in the fact that the linen fabric will feature photo printing elements.

As Igor Yeshchenko emphasized, the development of new product types became possible thanks to the technical modernization carried out at the plant. Since 2007, about Br30 billion has been invested in these purposes. Within the next three years, investments in the upgrade and acquisition of new equipment will amount to more than 80 million euros. The plant intends to replace dyeing equipment and build a warehouse complex. Another crucial task at the enterprise is considered to be increasing the export of finished fabrics and reducing the sale of semi-finished products. Currently, exports account for 65% of the manufactured products, the majority of which are fabrics requiring additional processing. At the same time, today the enterprise is capable of producing high-quality dyeing and shrinkage of linen fabrics that meet the requirements of the global market. Today, regular buyers of finished fabrics of Orsha production are manufacturers from Lithuania, Estonia, Sweden, and Norway.

Orsha Linen Mill is one of the leading enterprises in the light and textile industry of Belarus and other CIS countries, established in 1930. It produces over 30 million linear meters of finished linen fabrics per year. The main range of finished products includes various table linen: tablecloths, napkins, towels, and their sets; bed linen: sheets, pillowcases, duvet covers, and sets; half-linen bedspreads. There are over 120 branded sections of the enterprise and 5 branded stores operating in Belarus.-0-
