Orsha District signed an agreement with Qingdao, China
The bilateral document was signed by the Mayor of Qingdao, Meng Fanli, and the Chairman of the Orsha District Executive Committee, Igor Isachenko.
A total of about 20 people arrived in the Chinese delegation, including representatives of the city administration and business circles. The day before, they participated in a business forum of the pilot zone for regional trade and economic cooperation "China – SCO" in Minsk and, within its framework, signed a memorandum of cooperation with the Vitebsk branch of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
A tasting of products from local manufacturers was organized for the guests of the Orsha region. Having already evaluated their quality (in May of this year, the regions signed a protocol of intent in Orsha), the Chinese expressed a desire to open a store of Belarusian meat, dairy, and bakery products in Qingdao.
Regarding the social sphere, Meng Fanli showed interest in international chess and freestyle wrestling tournaments held at the Ice Arena and the "Olimpiets" sports complex in Orsha. He expressed his intention to send Chinese athletes to participate in them.
The Orsha District plans to increase exports to China. Currently, the only exporting enterprise in the region is the Orsha Flax Mill.
By the way, in accordance with the credit agreement between Exim Bank of China and the flax mill, a credit line was opened for the implementation of an investment project to modernize the enterprise with production expansion in 2015-2017.
It was completed at the end of last year, with an investment volume of 129 million rubles. In January-June 2018, the volume of foreign trade of the Orsha District with China amounted to 3 million dollars, and the enterprise itself supplied goods worth 300 thousand dollars to China.
The guests of the Orsha region visited the House of Flax, appreciating the quality of the products manufactured by the flax mill.
Also, the heads of logistics and investment companies from the city of Qingdao discussed the prospects for cooperation in the construction of the multimodal industrial and logistics complex "Bremno-Orsha" with representatives of the company "Bremno Group."
