Orsha Open Joint-Stock Company "Legmash Plant" plans to create a modern foundry production, which will increase the enterprise's annual capacity in this area of activity by 15 times. The investment project will be implemented within the Vitebsk FEZ, a resident of which the joint-stock company was registered the other day.

As reported to "Vitebskiye Vesti" by the FEZ administration, the project envisages the reconstruction and modernization of the old casting section with the introduction of the gasified pattern casting technology with a production capacity of about 1 thousand tons per year. This will make it possible to produce small and medium series of castings with high accuracy in weight and dimensions, as well as increased operational properties. The planned reconstruction includes, among other things, the introduction of flexible technological processes, computerization of design work, and the development of software for the production of casting tooling on CNC machines. A total of at least 1 million euros is planned to be allocated for these purposes.

The creation of a modern foundry will allow the enterprise to minimize costs and reduce the cost of production, improve its quality and competitiveness in the casting market, successfully fulfill external orders, as well as meet the needs of OJSC "Belarusian Metallurgical Plant" for cast products and its own needs for castings and repair casting. Today, the main consumers of its products are machine-building plants in Belarus, Russia, and Ukraine.
