The main forces of Vitebsk region's agrarians are currently focused on sowing corn for silage
As of May 13, according to data provided by the Committee for Agriculture and Food of the Regional Executive Committee, 74.3 thousand hectares of this crop have been sown in the region, which is 62 percent of the planned amount and 15 thousand hectares more than on the same date last year.
Sowing of annual crops and potato planting are ongoing. The region's second bread has already occupied 1,438 hectares out of the planned 1,900. Farmers in the Toloсhin district are nearing the finish line, having planted this crop on 844 hectares out of 900. On Toloсhin lands, preference is given to proven domestic and imported varieties. The latter are planned to be used by the Toloсhin Cannery for the production of french fries.
