The remains of the victims of the Great Patriotic War were buried in Horadok
Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Council of Deputies Vladimir Terentyev and Prosecutor of Vitebsk Region, Senior Justice Counselor Igor Ukrainets participated in the mourning ceremony for the burial of the remains of the victims of the Great Patriotic War in Gorodok.
The event took place at the Pantheon of Memory in the tract Vorobyovy Gory. The remains of 16 people, discovered during search operations in August of the current year by servicemen of the 2nd specialized company of military unit No. 28443, were reburied there. Excavations were carried out as part of the investigation of a criminal case initiated due to the genocide of the Belarusian people during the Great Patriotic War. After studying archival documents, specialists identified a previously unrecorded site of civilian extermination near one of the ravines in the suburbs of Gorodok. Unfortunately, it was not possible to establish the names of the deceased.
