From overture to coda. The XXVI I. Sollertinsky International Music Festival will be held in Vitebsk
The overture to the celebration will be an organ concert by the renowned American musician Ronald Ebrecht. His solo performances have taken place in various cities across the USA, France, Italy, Germany, Russia, China, and other countries. Additionally, he performs with various chamber ensembles and has recorded numerous CDs.
The organist's performance is scheduled for December 2nd, while the grand opening will traditionally take place on Ivan Ivanovich Sollertinsky's birthday, December 3rd. The International Symphony Orchestra from Saint Petersburg, "Tavrichesky," will perform on the stage of the regional philharmonic hall. This orchestra unites virtuoso musicians from near and far abroad: the USA, Finland, Costa Rica, Mongolia, Belarus, Ukraine, Moldova, Kazakhstan, and other countries. The conductor is Mikhail Golikov, a laureate of international and all-Russian competitions, and People's Artist of Kabardino-Balkaria. This ensemble follows the traditions of the cultural and creative heritage of the "Tavricheskaya" chapel orchestra and choir, which was established by the Interparliamentary Assembly of the CIS member states for the 220th anniversary of the Tauride Palace and was modeled after the ensemble that served Prince Grigory Potemkin.
On the same day, teachers and students of the I. Sollertinsky Music College will perform in the college hall.
The festival program includes a concert by young St. Petersburg singer Olesya Petrova, winner of the first prize at the Radio France International Vocal Competition in Paris. Her participation as a finalist in the BBC "Voice of the World" competition led to contracts with major world theaters, including the Metropolitan Opera. The Vitebsk stage will also feature the jazz quintet of Inga Berzina from Riga, and the Lithuanian pianist Alexander Isakov, a laureate of many international piano music festivals.
At the closing concert on December 14, the audience will hear the Minsk ensemble of soloists "Partita". The ensemble will present to connoisseurs of Baroque musical art the concert cycle "Music of Kings".
Within the framework of the festival, scientific readings will be held with the participation of researchers from Belarus, Russia, and Poland. Presentations of two books will take place: "The Musical World of Alexander Sokurov" by Sergey Uvarov and "Composers of Belarus" by Tatiana Mdivani and Vera Kashtalyan.
