"From the bottom of our hearts": Veterans of labor were honored at the Maksimovsky boarding house
With gifts and congratulations, to the remote area of the Gorodok district, came the Chairman of the Committee for Labor, Employment and Social Protection of the Regional Executive Committee, Boris Efremov, and representatives of the district authorities. Words of gratitude for many years of conscientious work at the institution, for the employees of which human qualities such as kindness, patience, and sensitivity are important, were addressed to 15 former and current "Maksimovites." Despite the fact that they have all reached retirement age, some of them continue to work. For example, nurse Svetlana Shunkо.
– I have been working at the boarding house for 43 years, – says Svetlana. – I remember when it was still located in wooden houses along the village street. But even then it was in demand, with over 400 people living there.
During tea, the veterans recalled historical milestones, in particular, the construction of a standard building. With its commissioning in 1991, it became much more comfortable to work and live in it. And in general, relatives of those living in "Maksimovka" note its special, almost home-like atmosphere.
The staff is mainly composed of residents from the surrounding villages, many work in families, and young people follow in the footsteps of their parents, thus forming dynasties.
A real event for everyone involved with the boarding house is the major renovation that is currently underway. Reconstruction of the buildings, which have only seen cosmetic repairs during their existence, is also planned. The veterans are confident that this will help strengthen the positive image of the institution. Therefore, in addition to personal gifts from the administration, they were pleased with a gift presented by Boris Efremov: a certificate for 2 thousand rubles to strengthen the material and technical base.
