The selection of Belarusian contestants for "Slavianski Bazaar" should be carried out much earlier - R. Bass
June 1, Minsk / Zhanna Kotlyarova - BELTA /. The approach to selecting and preparing Belarusian contestants for the Slavianski Bazaar in Vitebsk international arts festival should be fundamentally changed. This opinion was expressed today at a press conference by Rodion Bass, General Director of the Vitebsk Culture Center and Director of the festival directorate, BELTA correspondent reports.
Only two states, the organizers of the Slavianski Bazaar, Belarus and Russia, hold selections of their representatives for the competition of young performers every year. Other participating countries have a kind of queue, thanks to which an artist knows 3-4 years in advance that they will perform at the Vitebsk competition of young performers.
Due to the casting, which is held a few months before the competition, Belarusian participants have very little time left for preparation, literally two months: recording compositions and their arrangements, sewing costumes. According to Rodion Bass, the selection should be carried out in advance.
Performers from 19 countries will take part in the current competition. -0-
