The day care unit for disabled people of the Gorodok District Territorial Center for Social Services celebrated its housewarming

The solemn opening ceremony was attended by the Chairman of the Regional Council of Deputies Vladimir Terentyev, the leadership of the Committee for Labor, Employment and Social Protection of the Regional Executive Committee, and representatives of local authorities.

— People with disabilities are given special attention in our state, including those living in rural areas, — said Vladimir Vladimirovich. — Day care centers are the only place for many disabled people where they can acquire the skills necessary for a full life in society. Therefore, the conditions in them should be as good as possible.

The director of the Territorial Center for Social Services, Svetlana Ardya, gave the guests a tour of the facility, which is located in a renovated building in the center of Gorodok. The building with a total area of over 340 sq. m was gratuitously transferred by the district center of hygiene and epidemiology. After reconstruction, it now houses modern premises for rehabilitation workshops, a lounge, a relaxation area, and a mini-gym, and on the adjacent territory, a garden with a greenhouse. Special attention was paid to ensuring the accessibility of the center with elements of a barrier-free environment, in particular, a ramp, tactile tiles, handrails, and signs with room names, duplicated in Braille.

— 34 thousand rubles of extra-budgetary funds and 6 thousand rubles from the labor, employment and social protection department fund of the district executive committee were spent on repairs, — Svetlana Vladimirovna reported. — We are grateful for the support of local authorities, enterprises and organizations of the district. For example, the district executive committee provided us with a stair climbing lift, SOOO "Lanatex" provided a multifunctional simulator, and the center for the disposal of aviation ordnance provided a table tennis table.
