The Medical Rehabilitation Department of the Vitebsk Regional Diagnostic Center has opened in Krupenino
The opening of this facility is perhaps the most significant event dedicated to the institution's 20th anniversary, as it is an important step towards mastering a new, in-demand area – rehabilitation and sanatorium-resort treatment.
Branch No. 1 "Medical Rehabilitation Department" of the Regional Diagnostic Center is located on the territory of the recreation center "Krupenino" in the Beshenkovichi district and has become the thirteenth unit of the institution. Patients with diseases of the peripheral nervous system will now undergo recovery here. The department is designed for 60 beds, and there are also 21 hotel-type beds. For patients, physiotherapy procedures, acupuncture, balneotherapy, mud therapy, massage, therapeutic exercise, and, if necessary, drug therapy are provided. In the future, it is planned to introduce hirudotherapy. Currently, one of the buildings of the recreation center has been re-equipped for these purposes, but soon the transfer of the remaining premises to the healthcare administration is expected. Thus, a full-fledged rehabilitation center with a full range of services will be created, and in the future, with a high commercial component, attracting foreign patients. Funds earned by the branch from service exports will be directed to the construction of a women's consultative polyclinic – another structural unit of the center.
The field of neurology was also reflected in the scientific and practical conference “Modern Diagnostic Technologies: Implementation into Practice”, which also took place as part of the anniversary events and brought together colleagues from all over Belarus. This is understandable, as it is in the development of this area that the Vitebsk Regional Diagnostic Center has achieved success and earned positive feedback from specialists from the capital, including the Head of the Department of Pediatric Neurology of the Belarusian Medical Academy of Postgraduate Education, the chief freelance pediatric neurologist of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Belarus, Leonid Shalkevich.
The Center for Paroxysmal Conditions, opened at the Vitebsk Regional Diagnostic Center 12 years ago, became a pioneer in this field, including the study of acute neurological disorders in children. The advanced experience of the Vitebsk specialists has now spurred the creation of similar services throughout the republic. This area, as emphasized by Leonid Valentinovich, has become particularly relevant recently, as there is an increase in the number of children with nervous system pathology and a significant number with paroxysmal conditions – headaches, migraines, etc. In this regard, the exchange of information on innovative diagnostic and treatment methods is of great importance for doctors in order to reduce the incidence of such diseases and improve the lives of young patients with similar pathologies. The conference in Vitebsk is an excellent opportunity for this. Also, within its framework, young neurologists undergoing internships at the medical institution took the oath of professional dedication.
Another event in the series of anniversary celebrations was the presentation of the mammology center, which was established at the diagnostic center this year (read more about it in upcoming issues of the newspaper).
– Over the past year, there has been a significant expansion of the capabilities of the regional diagnostic center, – noted the head of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee's Healthcare Department, Yuri Derkach. – Thanks to this, the institution performs all types of diagnostics using highly efficient equipment, conducts treatment and rehabilitation, plays an important role in resource saving and ensuring the quality of medical care in the region.
Yuri Nikolaevich read out a congratulatory address from the head of the region, Alexander Kosinets, to the jubilee participants, which also gave a high assessment of the institution's activities over all 20 years of its operation.
For their contribution to the development of domestic healthcare, the chief physician of the regional diagnostic center, Vladimir Orekhvo, and the staff were awarded honorary diplomas of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus. The best employees, from heads of departments to mid-level medical personnel, received personal honorary diplomas, commendations from the regional executive committee and the Council of Deputies.
