The Department of Cardiac Arrhythmia and Conduction opened at the Vitebsk Cardiology Center

Here, both emergency and planned medical care are provided to residents of the entire Vitebsk region. Previously, patients with such pathologies underwent treatment in various institutions in Vitebsk and the region. In this regard, the need arose to open a specialized department to concentrate patients with complex and life-threatening disorders requiring drug and surgical correction. This will make medical care more accessible and highly qualified.
– Heart rhythm and conduction disorders occupy a special place in the structure of cardiovascular diseases. Almost 25% of patients seeking cardiological care have this pathology. Therefore, the decision was made to open such a department with 40 beds, – explained the chief physician of the VRKCC, Natalia Podolinskaya. – Here, a team of highly qualified specialists, including cardiologists, arrhythmologists, X-ray endovascular surgeons, and a functional diagnostics physician, will provide therapeutic, diagnostic, and rehabilitation care to relevant patients. Patients will also be selected for X-ray endovascular diagnostic and surgical interventions to correct heart rhythm and conduction disorders, and for surgical correction.

No additional equipment procurement was required. The institution has everything necessary for diagnostics and providing such care for this pathology. Patient selection is actively underway, the logistics of their admission to the department have been established, and databases are being formed and constantly updated. Consultative and methodological assistance is provided by specialists from other healthcare institutions.
With the opening of the new department, patients from Vitebsk and the Vitebsk region have the opportunity to undergo all types of cardiological examinations within one medical institution: ergometry, treadmill test, transthoracic echocardiography, transesophageal echocardiography, stress echocardiography, ECG Holter monitoring, pacemaker programming (reprogramming), etc.
Specialists of this department will provide methodological assistance to specialist physicians of other healthcare institutions in the region on issues related to the organization of prevention, detection, and treatment of heart rhythm and conduction disorders.
