Domestic investor to develop "Kosmos" in Novopolotsk

The former "Kosmos" cinema in Novopolotsk will be reconstructed and repurposed into a car service center. This became known today following an auction organized by the "Vitebskoblimushchestvo" fund, where the property was acquired by a domestic investor for Br29.7 thousand, the fund reported.

The new owner of the cultural and exhibition complex building, which had been vacant for over 10 years, is "VitebskAvtoSiti" LLC from the regional center. According to the company's director, Andrey Beybulatov, the renovated facility with its new functional purpose is planned to be commissioned by the end of 2018. It will become the only specialized trade and service auto center in the oil workers' city. At the initial stage, the investment volume may amount to at least $300 thousand. The auto center will feature several certified showrooms offering a full range of services available to motorists at a similar center in Vitebsk, including the possibility of warranty and post-warranty branded car service. The building of the former cinema was put up for auction with an initial sale price of 2 BC (basic unit is currently Br23).

Two participants showed interest in the property, and the winner was determined at the 60th step of the auctioneer, when the price exceeded the initial one by almost 650 times. The proceeds from the sale of the property will go to the budget of Novopolotsk. The lot included a two-story building built in 1962 with an area of over 1.2 thousand sq.m, as well as a 30-year lease right for a land plot of 0.23 ha.
