The opening of a sailing school in Braslav will contribute to the influx of tourists - the Polish ambassador
The solemn event took place on the city beach of Lake Drivyaty and became one of the key events of the program of the International Festival of Traditional Culture "Braslavskie Zarnitsy", which is held in the district center on May 27-28. "I am very glad that once again I can visit the beautiful Braslav land. We have been cooperating with Braslav for many years at the regional level. In particular, folklore groups from Poland participate in the "Braslavskie Zarnitsy" festival. As for the interaction between the embassy and the city of Braslav and the district, it has become intensive recently. A year and a half ago, we conceived a joint project, which has been realized today: a sailing school and yachting, which was once (in pre-war years) developed here, have been recreated," said the diplomat.
The ambassador emphasized that one of the main goals of the joint work with the Braslav District Executive Committee is the creation of a sailing school for youth. "This Polish assistance is for the development of tourism and for providing young people with the opportunity to engage in activities under sail. In addition, our project is also an economic boost, because the sailing school will contribute to the influx of tourists, which means additional income and opportunities for the city's development," added Konrad Pawlik.
Continuing the topic of the sailing school, the diplomat noted that this is one of the large small grants implemented in Belarus for about 100 thousand euros. "We will try to continue this project. Perhaps we will expand its scale. We will discuss this issue with the local authorities. A good first step has already been taken," the ambassador emphasized. Konrad Pawlik reported that over the past 10 years, 100 such projects have been implemented in Belarus, each worth from 50 to 70 thousand euros. Most of them are socio-public.
"In Braslav region, we have implemented a socio-tourism project. We want to do more projects that
are aimed at economic development, including the creation of small and medium-sized enterprises, - said the diplomat. - We will try to implement about 5-6 small grants annually. Such plans fit well into the process of intensifying relations between Poland and Belarus, which has been taking place in recent months."
This year marks the 50th anniversary of "Braslavskie Zarnitsy", and in honor of this anniversary, a commemorative sign was solemnly opened in the city. The two-day program of the holiday is full of various events. An regional review-competition of vocal and choral groups was held, a procession of holiday participants took place from the city square to the "Lesnichyevka" forest park, and the forum was solemnly opened. Among the events is an acquaintance with medieval culture on Zamkovaya Hill. The "Mech Brachislava" festival this year brought together historical reconstruction clubs from Belarus, Lithuania, and Poland, most of whom are already familiar to the residents of Braslav and regular guests of the festival.
Children's creative groups from Belarus, Armenia, Lithuania, Latvia, Poland, Russia, and Estonia will perform in Braslav. An entertainment program has been organized in the district center, fair exhibitions are open, a city of masters invites guests, tastings of products from the district's enterprises are held, the "Braslavskaya Yushka" competition has been arranged, and much more. -
