Open dialogue with the public will help authorities find the right solution to problems - Alexander Poznyak

Open dialogue with the public will help authorities make the right decisions on problematic issues. This opinion was expressed to journalists by Presidential Aide - Inspector for the Vitebsk Region Alexander Poznyak following a personal field reception of citizens in Orsha.

Alexander Poznyak noted that when making decisions on problematic issues, representatives of the authorities should definitely openly discuss these topics with the public. "Any decision made by the authorities must be discussed with the people. And if the authorities fail to explain why it is necessary, how it will improve life, then such a decision should not be made," he stressed. "Any decision of the authorities should be made for the benefit of the person, for the improvement of people's lives." One of the most pressing issues raised today with the Presidential Aide by the residents of the district is the closure of a school in one of the rural settlements. Citizens categorically disagree with the decision of the authorities, from whom not a single convincing argument in favor of such a turn of events has been heard.

"If we are talking about children's education, then this is precisely the case when one cannot put the saved ruble first. Maximizing cost reduction and increasing profitability is a task for production. Such an approach is unacceptable regarding the quality of life of people, and especially children. When making decisions about closing a specific school, and optimizing the network of school institutions in general, it is necessary to focus on improving the quality of education and creating conditions for the comprehensive development of schoolchildren," Alexander Poznyak noted.

He also emphasized that the advantages of the educational institution where children will be taken after the closure of the school in their native village should be obvious to parents. "Every person, every family should be explained what this will give them. If there are not enough arguments, do not make such a decision. And if the benefits are obvious, implement it and explain it to people," said Alexander Poznyak.

He noted that all the issues raised at personal receptions are relevant. "Even if the topic is not significant on a national scale, but it is very important for each specific person. For example, today one

from the applicants spoke about the fact that the transaction for the sale of the house was not properly executed. This is a big problem for a person," said the President's aide.

Problems of entire microdistricts or even settlements were also raised at the reception - the issue of road construction and repair was discussed. "Several people said that the roads in the Orsha district are not very good. These issues are significant. They cannot be resolved immediately, it will take time," said Alexander Poznyak. "But the main thing is that the authorities understand: this problem must be solved."

In addition to the topics already mentioned, the reception discussed utility fees - one of the applicants said that recently the figures for some items have increased by half, or even doubled. An elderly rural resident complained about the work of milk collectors (there are two cows at the 87-year-old woman's farmstead). According to the pensioner, the milk collectors significantly underestimate the fat content of the accepted product in order to pay less for it.

Alexander Poznyak instructed the district leadership, together with specialists from the Committee of State Control, to organize an inspection on this issue. During the reception, which was attended by Alexander Poznyak, responsible workers of the regional and district executive committees, specialists from various services and departments, citizens were given explanations. All issues have been taken under control.
