The dispatch of new recruits to the troops will take place in the Vitebsk region in November
In November, about 1.4 thousand conscripts and 200 reservists are planned to be sent to the army from the regional collection point. Daily, the regional military commissariat will form groups of young men who will spend the next year and a half in one military unit. The first to welcome reinforcements this autumn will be units of the internal troops.
— The main tasks of conscripting citizens for active military service and service in the reserve are to ensure the fulfillment of their constitutional duty and training in military occupational specialties, — said Lieutenant Colonel Vladimir Stelmakhov, Deputy Head of the Military Conscription Department of the Regional Military Commissariat. — I hope that the new recruits will become worthy successors to the glorious traditions laid down by previous generations of Fatherland defenders.
Vladimir Nikolaevich clarified that sending young men to their places of service is the final stage of the conscription campaign, which was preceded by months of painstaking work to select candidates capable of joining the ranks due to their physical and moral qualities.
In recent years, every second conscript has been found fit for military service based on their health status following a medical examination.
— The innovation of recent years – the possibility of alternative service – is not popular, — reported Vladimir Stelmakhov. — This autumn, three applications were received by the district and city conscription commissions from citizens who, due to religious beliefs, cannot take the military oath, carry, or use weapons.
