The absence of accounting was revealed at one of the enterprises of the KGB of the Vitebsk region

The actual absence of accounting records was revealed by specialists of the Vitebsk Oblast Committee for State Control during an inspection of the republican unitary production enterprise "Vitebsk Regional Repair Enterprise," the State Control Committee for Vitebsk Oblast informed a BELTA correspondent. The state of accounting at the enterprise does not ensure the reliability of data on income, expenses, and the results of financial and economic activities for the period from 2005 to 2008, which contributes to possible abuses by officials and the loss of state property, the State Control Committee noted. Thus, during the inspection, controllers did not receive the enterprise's general ledger for 2007, and the data of the general ledger for 2008 are not confirmed by analytical accounting registers. Primary accounting documents are not signed by materially responsible and authorized persons, and material reports were compiled by the accounting department at the direction of the enterprise director, were not checked or approved by anyone. The enterprise did not account for the generated business waste of metal and scrap metal. Inventory of inventory and materials was carried out formally, with gross violations of legislation, and the inventory for 2007 was never completed. Controllers established the concealment of a shortage of inventory and materials in the amount of Br150 million. The enterprise management did not take measures to organize accounting, except perhaps for the dismissal of chief accountants (5 specialists changed positions in 2 years). In addition, State Control Committee controllers identified violations in matters of salary accrual, ensuring healthy and safe working conditions, which contributed to high staff turnover. Thus, in 2008, 79 people were dismissed at the enterprise, or 96.3% of the average number of employees. During the inspection, facts of inefficient use of funds from the republican fund for the support of agricultural producers in the amount of about Br1.2 billion were established. The materials of the inspection have been sent to the Department of Financial Investigations of the State Control Committee of Belarus for the Vitebsk Region for a legal assessment of the identified violations. -0-
