The "Lesnye Ozera" sanatorium is preparing to offer patients a health-improving raft excursion.

August 25, Ushachi / Diana Kurilo - BELTA /. The "Lesnye Ozera" sanatorium (Vitebsk region) is preparing to offer its patients a raft excursion on the lake next season, the chief physician of the institution, Vadim Prokudin, told a BELTA correspondent. The journey promises to be not only educational but also health-improving, as the Dolgoye and Barkovshchina lakes are fed by six springs with mineral water, including those saturated with hydrogen sulfide, like in the famous Matsesta. Another attraction of the sanatorium will be a heated mineral water pool in a natural reservoir. Modern technologies allow, without harming nature, to provide the opportunity to take water procedures until November, said Vadim Prokudin. A significant part of the funds for the renewal of the institution's material base is earned by itself. Last year alone, Br200 million was allocated for the purchase of modern medical equipment. The sanatorium acquired a German compression therapy device "Lymph-mat digital Gradient", a thermotherapy massage bed that uses the healing properties of semi-precious stones. The Federation of Trade Unions of Belarus, which oversees this sanatorium, also invested funds in its reconstruction. Over the past three years, about Br1.5 billion has been allocated by the FTU for the restoration of drinking water supply, the reconstruction of the boiler house and its conversion to local types of fuel. As Vadim Prokudin noted, there is a demand for health improvement in Belarusian sanatoriums not only among compatriots and Russians, but also, for the first time this year, Swedish guests have appreciated the local beauty and medical services. The first-category sanatorium "Lesnye Ozera" is located in the ancient resort area of Barkovshchina, where the first sanatorium in Belarus was opened 150 years ago. The health resort uses climatotherapy, drinking mineral water treatment, phytotherapy, and balneotherapy. -0-
