Vitebsk region's health camps extended the third shift
Health resorts of the Vitebsk region have extended the third shift, the head of the representative office "Vitebsk Regional Department of the Republican Center for Health Improvement and Sanatorium-Resort Treatment of the Population" Elena Andreykova told a BELTA correspondent.
She emphasized that the mass holiday season has already ended, but specialized health resorts for schoolchildren continue to operate in the region: military-patriotic, sports, ecological, etc. Thanks to the extension of the third shift, 53,254 schoolchildren will undergo health improvement during the current season, which is almost 500 people more than planned at the beginning of summer.
In total, 35 stationary suburban camps with round-the-clock stays for children, 15 camps on leased premises, and 140 specialized nine-day camps for schoolchildren operated in the region this summer. During the season, 21.2 thousand children and adolescents underwent health improvement here. More than 30.5 thousand children rested in 812 day camps, including labor and recreation camps. 65 such camps operated this season. 1,326 teenagers aged 14-18 rested and worked here. "Schoolchildren worked 4 hours a day for the improvement of territories, helped repair schools and preschool institutions, participated in agricultural work, and worked at enterprises," said Elena Andreykova, and specifically noted that 2,134 orphans and 515 children with disabilities underwent health improvement during this summer season.
