Vitebsk region's lakes should become a revenue item for the regional budget - A. Kosinets

April 1, Novolukoml / Diana Kurilo - BELTA /. Lakes of the Vitebsk region should become a profitable item in the regional budget. This was the opinion expressed today to journalists by the Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee, Alexander Kosinets, during a visit to the "Novolukomlsky" fish farming site of the Chashniki PMK of land reclamation, according to a BELTA correspondent. The comprehensive program "Lakes" is being finalized in the region. According to the governor, it will provide for the effective and rational use of the region's water resources. In particular, the program will address stocking lakes with fish, increasing commercial fish catches, creating fish processing facilities, and organizing a distribution network. The program will also include the creation of tourism and recreation infrastructure. Out of the 1850 lakes in the region, 100 will be included in the program.
