Revival of twin city ties will boost cooperation between Belarus and Bulgaria - Z.Radukov

February 25, Vitebsk / Olga Bogacheva - BELTA /. The revival of twin-city relations between cities and regions will help activate cooperation between Belarus and Bulgaria. This opinion was expressed today to journalists by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Bulgaria to Belarus, Zahari Radukov, during the International Investment Forum in Vitebsk, BELTA correspondent reports. "To counteract the negative consequences of the global economic crisis, all available methods must be used. The revival of relations between twin cities and regions will contribute to a more active establishment of relations between the economic sectors of Belarus and Bulgaria, and the cooperation of our small and medium-sized businesses," the diplomat is confident. In addition, new niches and points of contact should be sought where joint projects can be implemented. As a positive example, Zahari Radukov cited the Vitebsk Distillery, which last year entered the Bulgarian market for the first time, and in 2010 intends to significantly expand its presence there. "Unrealized potential for the development of bilateral cooperation can be found in many other areas," the ambassador emphasized. Zahari Radukov also drew attention to the fact that the Belarusian-Bulgarian trade turnover recorded at the end of 2009 does not satisfy either side. "It can be significantly larger," the diplomat concluded. -0-
