The House of Representatives ratified the agreement on visa-free travel for citizens of Belarus and Ukraine

April 2, Minsk /Ekaterina Nechayeva - BELTA/. The Belarusian-Ukrainian intergovernmental agreement on visa-free travel for citizens was ratified by the deputies of the House of Representatives today at the first session of the spring session, according to a BELTA correspondent. Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Valery Voronetsky informed the session that the intergovernmental agreement provides for the possibility of citizens of one state staying in the territory of the other without registration for 30 days. The document also provides for parity conditions for exemption of citizens of the two states from registration with competent authorities at their place of stay, provided they have a migration card. In addition, the agreement preserves the visa-free travel regime for all categories of citizens of Belarus and Ukraine. At the same time, the procedure for travel of minor children is stipulated, as well as the procedure for returning to the territory of their home country for those who have lost their travel documents. The text of the document contains a provision on the period of stay of citizens in the territory of the state of the parties up to 180 days within a year (90 days within six months) from the date of the first entry. The ratification of the agreement will optimize the travel procedure for citizens of the two countries and will contribute to the development of tourism and business ties, believes the deputy minister. He added that the Ukrainian side has already completed the domestic procedures necessary for the intergovernmental agreement with Belarus on visa-free travel for citizens to enter into force. -0-
