The memory of the holy Orthodox prince Alexander Nevsky will be honored in Vitebsk from December 4-6, the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee informed a BELTA correspondent.

The series of events will be opened by the photo exhibition "300 Years of the Existence of the Holy Trinity Alexander Nevsky Lavra," brought to the Vitebsk Theological Seminary from St. Petersburg. The exhibition features 46 photographs dedicated to the architecture and history of the Lavra, as well as the monastery's modern life.

In addition, an icon of the holy Orthodox prince Alexander Nevsky with a particle of his relics will be brought to Vitebsk for believers to venerate. Townspeople will welcome the shrine on December 5 at the church of the same name, within the walls of which a prayer service with an akathist and an all-night vigil will be held.

Directly on the Day of Remembrance of the holy Orthodox prince, which the Orthodox Church celebrates on December 6, a religious procession will take place in Vitebsk with the arrived icon from the Alexander Nevsky Church to the Assumption Cathedral.
